Refund For Real Madrid vs. Club America Match
Like most of the Bay Area, here at Livethepitch.com we woke up feeling screwed over. So we went straight to the organization who put on this “great” event. After speaking with a representative from El Mexicano Presenta, I was told that they WILL be giving refunds for the tickets. Parking will be another issue and I have yet to get in touch with the parking company at this time.
Here is what to do as of right now:
Call El Mexicano Presenta at 408-960-2700 and ask to speak with someone about getting a refund for your tickets.
Let them know your story and they will ask you for your name, telephone number, the number of tickets you purchased and how much you spent on the tickets.
We will continue to call until we are reimbursed for this terrible experience and keep everyone updated on our progress.

Thanks for the number. I called ticketmaster to complain, they told me it had nothing to do with them and when I asked for a number or contact of who could he told me he didnt have one.
Yes, thank you for the phone number and for your posts – very helpful. I cannot understate how frustrating of an evening it was, and I’m sure everyone else can attest to that too! I really fault the lack of organization for the hours of traffic, the parking mess, and the horrible will-call nightmare.
Thanks. I’ve called them (left # and name) and have emailed Ticketmaster as well. Personally I think the onus is on Ticketmaster to make this right. They’re happy to charge exorbitant “service charges” when we’re buying the tickets, but the second something goes wrong they say it’s not their fault and they have no responsibility? Bullshit. Will call did not work, the tickets were will call, Ticketmaster needs to refund the money.
You are spot on Amar Ticketmaster charged us a “convenience fee” how much of last night was convenient? When I spoke to the guy at TM he was no help. I told him ticketmaster even if not responsible for the event should be putting severe pressure on el mexicana on their customers behalf.
Left Walnut creek at 5:45, heavy traffic at tunnel, heavy traffic at bay bridge, heave traffic at around the city, when we finally got to the freeway exit, we thought we finally made it, it was around 8:05 pm, it was a tremendous mess at the exit, it took us 1:25 from the exit to the parking lot entrance, and there were only 2 people at each car entrance gate, this is ridiculous organization, what a bunch of corrupt bastards, we should all complain and get our money back. Once we got at the ticket booth, we paid online for 65 dollar tickets, and they sent us to the 35.00 dollar section. and once we got there it was 75 minitues into the game, 15 minutes before it ended, then to go back home with another traffic mess. Come on is there a lawyer out there to help us, please. It’s like some one rape you and you do nothing about it. Screw this bastards
this is the most horrible expericence I ever had for a soccer game I paid more than $500 (5 tickets at $95 + ticket master fee of almost $65). We left around 6pm from Berkely. We arrived at the park’s exit where we waited more than an hour to reach the park, then again 30 minutes to get to the parking. once we got to the will call, more than thousand people on the line and nothing moved. We did not see anything and the organisation was aweful. If we do not get reimibrsed, we intend to sue the organisation and for a big one this time. Ticket master should never ask us to go to will call when we already pay the ticket. This is ridiculous. We paid $30 for the parking and could not even enjoy the game. Shame to the organisors, shame to ticket master, shame to the parking management that refused to reimburse the ticket when we did not even see the game.

Just tried to call about getting a refund, and was transferred directly to Tim Luce….who naturally didn’t pick up. What a joke.
Thanks for the video Jay. I am not letting up on these crooks!!! and I dont want to go to another event organized by these guys!! nothing but a refund would do and we should stick to that and continue pressure.

If anyone has the time, one tactic that I think might help is to email consumerist and try to get them to publish something on this and put pressure on Ticketmaster/promoters. They should not be allowed to get away with this fraud; I’m sure they’re hoping we will forget about it and let it go.

Also, the bigger picture is that Ticketmaster has a near monopoly on ticket sales in the U.S. and uses this to charge ridiculous fees that would never be acceptable if there were any real competition in the market. They are attempting to become an even more dominant force by merging with Live Nation. Given that they’re a monopoly, the only way we can really fight Ticketmaster is through political pressure. ive spent hours calling ticketmaster, they gave that number, i call them and they say ” no one is in the office.” for anyone who is interested, this matter is very large grounds to sue. we can sue, we WILL get our money back. maybe if they ripped off a couple people, it would be forgotten. they stole thousands of peoples money
This is unacceptable. Even if ticketmaster is not responsible for the running of the event, they are the ones selling the product and have a responsibility to the consumer. I keep getting the runaround as well. Ticketmaster also told me to call the promoter, which I did and they of course were not in the office. Ticketmaster is skirting around the problem and needs to step up.
If they don’t refund we should organize an angry mob via facebook to get everyone to storm their headquarters.
It was a totally nightmare,got off early from work,hours of traffic,head ache,me and my husband got there at 8:10,paid 30$ for the parking,plus 172.00 $ for the stupid tickets wich wich we never got,i totally want a refound!! been calling since thursday and no response,,my 1st and last time attending to the idiots marques bros event..
I can confirm that I had the same issue. I just called the number and it went directly to voicemail. I had contact Ticketmaster and my credit card company and there is nothing they can do for me…
I called El Mexicano Presenta on 8/5 and they took my name & number and told me that I would be receiving a phone call from them on Friday regarding how to get a refund. I didn’t get a call on Friday, so I called again on Monday and they said they were busy and that I should receive a call between monday-wednesday. It’s now Friday and I still didn’t get a call from them so I called again and they transferred me to Tim Luce who’s phone went straight to voicemail. I left him a message and also e-mailed him. This is unacceptable. WE DESERVE A REFUND!
FYI – the ticket refund issue is TICKETMASTER not the promoters. TicketMaster has been in business for a long time and they should know how to handle any type of ticket issue. Why people were told to pick up tickets at will call? Why would ticketmaster do that? Those of you who are thinking about sueing, ticketmaster is the one to sue. I was fortunate to see the game but I feel bad for those that had problems. The refunds need to come from TICKETMASTER.
Has anyone received a refund? I’m told that Marquez Brothers is not giving me a refund because I had the tickets with me.. like it matters, no one could get in! Who should I bring a lawsuit against?
I was told by Marquez Brothers that my claim was denied because i had my tickets and like Vivian said it didnt matter we still couldnt get in.
I just emailed them again to see what the status of my refund is. I wasn’t ever able to actually get my tickets, despite having paid for the ability to pick the tickets up early.

Marquez Brothers has yet again denied my refund. I even indicated that it was an unsafe event to attend, at the end people were running in and security was not checking tickets. Marquez Brothers does not care about public safety. I need to bring a civil action agains them, who is thinking of doing the same?
I’m still waiting on my refund as well. I haven’t yet been denied, but if I am, I’d be happy to help pursue legal action.
Can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but I got a refund! The actual money is back in my actual account. Very happy!
